Kathy graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 1984. After working in private practice in Auckland and London between 1985 to 1990, she arrived in Perth and purchased an established practice, Mandurah Terrace Dental Clinic, in 1991. After 15 years on ‘The Terrace’, the practice was expanded and relocated to Silver Sands,  to become Silver Sands Family Dental Care, as it is known today.

Kathy is passionate about dentistry. Having had extensive dental treatment as a child, and numerous visits as a patient herself, Kathy has realised that dental care delivered with compassion and a high standard of excellence can have a profound effect on not only the dental outcome but more importantly on a patient’s life. Her passion and special interests are in Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry whilst operating a general family dental practice. She is dedicated to improving the oral health and general wellbeing of her patients by providing a high level of dental care in a friendly, relaxed and safe environment.

Kathy regularly attends seminars and continuing education courses to ensure she stays up to date, as well as to refine her skills and keep up with the ever-changing technology in modern dentistry. She has been a long-standing member of the Australian Dental Association.

While having lived and practised in Mandurah for over 28 years, Kathy enjoys the great Mandurah lifestyle with her husband Phil, their 2 children, and 2 Ragdoll Fur Babies. She is a keen skier, gardener (bonsai) and cook.

Dr Nurazian (Yan) Mohamed graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Western Australia in 2000. A caring and gentle dentist, Dr Yan’s aim is to provide dental care to patients from all walks of life.

She began her career with rural town settings and has practiced in Cloncurry, Mt Isa and Mildura before moving back to Western Australia in 2003. She has experience working in both government and private practices. Dr. Yan has been working at Silver Sands Family Dental Care since 2006.

Dr Yan enjoys all aspects of general dentistry. She is committed to attending continuing education events to provide her patients with the latest evidence-based treatment for a successful outcome.

She is also fluent in the Malay language and believes in the importance of work-life balance. When she is not at the surgery, she would spend her time cycling, swimming, delving into sustainable organic gardening and looking after her two Burmese cats!

Dr Chayra Wong recently earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery from the University of Adelaide. Prior to graduation, she gained much clinical experience in South Australia, attending to a wide range of patients of all ages, both in city and rural environments. Dr Wong strives to make each patient’s experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible by being friendly, warm, and understanding.

Dr Wong is passionate about general dentistry, preventative care and oral health education. As such, she focuses on treating patients as well as giving them the knowledge they need to best take care of their smiles. She also has a special interest in paediatrics and routinely attended to children’s dental needs during her time at the University of Adelaide. Dr Wong is a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and is committed to ongoing professional development to provide the most up-to-date treatment for her patients.

Outside of dentistry, Dr Wong is an avid reader. She also enjoys travelling and trying new cuisines.

Peter Lam

Prosthetist

Peter was born and raised in Sydney, NSW, where he also attended primary and high school. He began his dental career in 2006 at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

Peter completed his Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Technology in 2008 and began furthering his tertiary education with a Masters of Dental Technology in Dental Prosthetics in 2009. Whilst undertaking his Masters degree, he worked alongside Apex Dental Laboratories enabling him to further his knowledge and skills in dental technology. Graduating from his Masters in 2010, he continued to work with Apex full time in 2011. During this time, he undertook a position at Griffith University as a tutor and academic, teaching Dental Materials.

After gaining a thorough understanding of dental technology, Peter moved back to Sydney, NSW in 2012 to pursue a clinical career as a Dental Prosthetist, working solely with nursing homes all over NSW. Peter learnt how to treat and manage a wide variety of patients including those with dementia, Alzheimer's, and those in pallative care.

After attaining a great deal of experience in clinical dental prosthetics working alongside nursing homes, Peter opened up a dental clinic, in 2014 in western suburbs of Sydney, which provided both general and prosthetic dental services. During this time he worked closely with dentists giving him a more complete understanding of dentistry in general.

In 2016, he moved to Perth to continue his pursuit of providing the highest quality of dental prosthetic care and treatment.
